Every hour of archived data is run through several statistical tests. The purpose of these tests is to detect any statistical anomalies, i.e. significant deviations from what we would expect to see from truly random data. For each completed hour, an hourly summary of p-values is shown for the tests; and for each completed day a list of p-values by hour is shown. While no single set of test results definitively proves the data are random or non-random, consistent anomalies (such as very low p-values, e.g. < 0.001) indicate there may be some non-random pattern in the generated data. Conversely, consistent tests without such anomalies (or, with such anomalies occuring at roughly the expected non-zero rate) give confidence that the generator is working correctly and the data are random. The tests shown on this page are run automatically every hour/day, and are rather limited. The results of more rigorous statistical testing done on larger data sets can be found here.
